STEM ON
TRACK

Build a kart. Learn the STEM theory behind it. Race it at the National Finals.

we do...

WHAT

STEM On Track is a  national challenge  for KS3 and KS4 students, where young people build their own racing karts, learn the STEM theory behind it and race against other competing schools.

All guided by
curriculum linked modules, hosted on our   Race Academy  platform.

What We Do

WHY

we exist + why schools love it!

We exist to answer the question every teacher has heard before...

"When will I ever use this in real life?"

It's a fair question. When maths and science feel abstract, students switch off. STEM On Track closes that gap. We make the theory real. STEM On Track is built for teachers,  by teachers.  With a focus on:

  • Showing where Maths and Science exist in the real world.

  • Creating pathways into STEM and motorsport careers.

  • Engaging hard-to-reach and SEND learners.

  • Building teamwork, resilience, and confidence.

  • Building a sense of community that students feel and parents notice.

HOW

it works...

STEM activities generally fall into three categories: the good, like our friends at  STEM Racing the bad, and the downright ugly (think building towers out of spaghetti).

We aim to go
BEYOND. Here's how it works...

BUILD

Students work in teams to construct a real race kart from the chassis up, no prior experience needed, all guided by our digital Race Academy  platform.

LEARN

Every build practical is backed by curriculum linked, STEM learning, connecting classroom theory to engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving.

RACE

Teams take their karts to the track for Test Days and our National Finals, racing head-to-head with over 100+ school teams across the UK.

The students find sponsors, design their kart graphics kit and apply it to their bodywork.

Students build their kart step by step, whilst completing curriculum linked learning modules.

JAN

MAY

Each team tests their racing kart for the first time at our Test events, whilst also attaining their racing license.

SEPT

Kart-kit + tools arrive in school and students login to the Race Academy LMS.

The climax of the competition, schools from around the country compete in a final endurance race, and discover endless possibilities at our  National Finals  and STEM Fair.

WHO

we work with

We work with individual schools, academic trusts and industry partners across the UK. From small SEN settings to full Trust rollouts, local state schools to Formula One teams.

Why? Because STEM On Track is designed with inclusivity in mind.

Our model is plug and play, it’s built for growth and easy adoption. You can add more teams to a single school, roll it out across an entire Trust, or deliver it across multiple regions as an industry partner - all through our  Race Academy platform.

And so far the results speak for themselves:

  • 115 school teams with 2,420 students engaged weekly in our first 18 months.

  • 372,680 hours of hands-on STEM learning delivered and counting.

  • 93% year-on-year growth. Schools don’t just try it. They expand it.

  • £7.4 million in social value generated so far.

Here's The Proof

's

HERE

the proof

Schools don't just try STEM On Track, they expand it. In 2024 we started with 40 school teams, now we work with 115 and are on track to grow to 200 by 2027. How? Because it works.

100% of teachers surveyed recommend the programme.

Not 99%. All of them.

75% see improved behaviour in students who were previously disengaged.

And here's the bit that makes finance happy... over 60% of our teams secure enough local sponsorship to cover 75-100% of the cost.
